ABOUT KALKAN

Kalkan is a well established upmarket resort on the popular Turquoise Coast, much loved by the discerning traveller.  Whilst the resort has expanded over recent years with many beautiful villas nestled into the hills, the old town has retained its original character and charm with pretty cobbled streets and quaint buildings, which wind down to the

harbour.  Great to meander through, taking in the local diverse shops and businesses as you go.  All are housed in attractive historic buildings many of which have stunning carved timber balconies garlanded with vibrant coloured bourgainvillea; all this adds to Kalkan’s very special atomosphere. The harbourside is a focal point and can be enjoyed both during the day and evening, with a wonderful selection of cafes, bars and restaurants as well as easy access to Kalkan’s town beach and the many boat excursions which are available.

The area is well served by a number of beach clubs, which as well as offering bathing platforms including some shaded areas, provide a good choice of water sports.  Most also have their own café or restaurant with excellent
lunch menus.

Kalkan is a paradise for 'foodies' with a wide selection of both Turkish and international cuisine.  Most restaurants are situated at the harbour or centred

around the old town with many enjoying panoramic views from their roof terraces.

At the top of the town there is a good choice of small supermarkets, banks, Post Office etc.  The town’s market takes place here each Thursday and is wonderful for
fresh produce.
