THE LYCIAN COAST
The Lycian Coastline, often referred to as the Turquoise Coast, is known for its beautiful clear waters and wonderful beaches. Patara beach, just 15 minutes by car from Kalkan, is the longest sandy beach in Europe. However, you do not need to travel far inland to find vast areas of natural beauty
such as Saklikent Gorge in order to enjoy nature at its best. Hikers will enjoy the famous Lycian Way which stretches from Fethiye to Antalya, and walks are often organised locally, particularly in spring and late summer/autumn when it is a little cooler. Horse riding on Patara beach and around the local area can be arranged, as can quad biking.
This is also an area rich in history and its ancient archeological sites at Xanthos, Patara, Tlos and Letoon are just a few of the many that are a must to be experienced.
